Some ideas of courses:
Roselend
-> Beaufort -> Lake Roselend -> Cormet Roselend
Return ditto or continue by Les Chappieux -> Bourg St Maurice then return by the valley (Aime, Moutiers)
Very nice walk to Cormet Roselend. The site of the lake is splendid and deserves a prolonged stop, dominated by the Rock of the Wind, the Pierra Menta, the Mont Blanc the pastures of the Beaufortain ... The descent on BSM is less interesting.
Tour of Lake Bourget
-> Chambéry -> Aix -> Brison -> Chindrieux -> Conjux (push to Chanaz, nice stop) -> The chapel of Mont du Chat (recommended detour in Hautecombe, high place of Savoyard history) -> Bourget du lac -> Chambéry -> Albertville
Great classic motorcycle ballad, absolutely avoid the summer Sundays as attendance is important.
The Chartreuse
-> Chambéry-> Col du Granier-> St Pierre d Entremont (a small detour is recommended to the Cirque of St Even) -> Col du Cucheron -> St Pierre de Chartreuse-> Col de Porte (at the summit detour unavoidable Charmant Som) -> The Sappey then descent on Grenoble and return by the valley of Grésivaudan (direction Chambéry with the choice right bank or left bank of Isère) until Montmélian or La Rochette then valley of the Tarentaise.
Beautiful crossing of the Chartreuse!
Crossing Bauges Semnoz
-> St Pierre d Albigny -> Col du Frêne -> School in Bauges -> Lescheraines -> Leschaux-> Crêt du Chatillon -> Annecy
Back: by Faverges / Ugine / Albertville or Aix Les Bains / Chambéry / Albertville
Middle mountain course with very pretty little known corners: the ash neck, the school valley, the Semnoz
